    Humane Societies Questions

Pengwin13 asks
I am doing a report on humane societies and animal shelters for high school and i wanted/need to know how they affect the society that we live in. I was kinda focusing mainly on euthanasia and pet overpopulation. Thank you for your help!

Their is only 1 Humane Society on both the Kansas & Missouri sides that do not put dogs to sleep. Why do majority of the shelters or societies put dogs to sleep? It breaks my heart. The dogs do not deserve to die because they can't find a family to adopt them within a certain amount of time. Is their any action i can try to take to hope to prevent this?
